For graphic design I got the assignment to design ‘The Internet of Things’, a book by Rob van Kranenburg, a writer and researcher.

The most important was that you gave your opinion about the subject through the design of the book. I found all his theories about ambient technology and RFID very interesting. I came to the conclusion you can look at the subject in several ways, and that causes confusion. That’s why I started playing with the reading direction. Every direction has a particular color, and at some points it overlaps. In this way it becomes more abstract.

I created the book in a completely ‘off-PC’ analogue manner, on a photo copier. Using colored sheets for the separate reading directions. Because making something digital/pixel-like seemed too easy, I chose for the opposite and the experiment.

Assignment for the Designskole Kolding: The assignment was to create a book with a minimum of twelve spreads about your exchange in Denmark, Kolding and the differences between your home town/country and Denmark. One of the interesting things about my exchange to Denmark was the interaction between the two places. And by that I mean all the (e)mail traffic between me and my friends and family back home. I collected all the (e)mail and text messages to create a story with it, and it would automatically show my experiences and the differences between my old and new home.

For the book I used a leporello technique which means you can fold the whole book out. By doing so you you get a chronological overview of all the messages I received and sent.

The back and cover of the book have the look of an envelope, which is used as an icon of communication.

Assignment for the Designskole Kolding; A self portrait. Being an art student really changed my view and perspective on things. Studying illustration became a part of my life and has a big influence on who I am as a person and how I act.

A group assignment at the Designskole Kolding. The assignment was to create a campaign against violence for a certain target group. The concept for this project is getting rid of social misunderstandings by communication of identity. To show things like insecurities, issues, opinions, dreams and hopes out in the open, in a positive funny and yet confronting way. Bring all these mutual things out in the open, this is how we can create new trust in unity.

Ten t-shirt/bag designs, posters, labels and a commercial.
